Hospitality

Hospitality areas need to be covered by a valid TV Licence if any staff or customers watch or record television programmes as they're being shown on TV. This includes the use of devices such as a TV, computer, mobile phone, games console, digital box or DVD/VHS recorder.

A hospitality area is any premises, other than a hotel, that provides rooms, corporate boxes or other similar places (units) for guests’ entertainment at an event - for instance, a sports stadium, club or ground (e.g. rugby, football, golf, tennis). Your licence fee will be based on the number of units in which a TV receiver is installed or used.

Managers must make sure that these units are correctly licensed. If they don’t then they can be fined up to £1000 per offence.
